I made these tops using a self drafted pattern, they are longer at the back. I scaled it down for Little Madam and the Munchkin but not quite enough for the Munchkin’s so I put a little pleat in the front before I attached the binding.
For the girls:
I made the binding from the same fabric – I love how great self binding looks . There are a few variations on how to make binding, this is a great one. I used one of these great little tools to press the raw edges over, then folded it in half and pressed again. I enclosed the raw edge inside the binding, then pinned and top stitched it in place.
For mine:
I made some binding from some left over silk habutai. I just folded it in half and pressed it, then attached the raw edges of garment and binding. I turned and pressed it to the inside, enclosing the raw edges then pinned and top stitched it in place.
Love these tops – so cool and comfy!
Materials
For mine printed silk habutai from the Fabric store and for the girls some gorgeous japanese cotton from Spotlight.
So so clever Eliza !! They look fresh, love the fabric 🙂
