I was given this lovely lunch bag book for my birthday (thanks Mary) and the little munchkin picked out a project for us to make, its the one on the cover actually but there are loads of other lovelies in there.
We tried to sew it together but just ran out of time and I ended up finishing it because she was desperate to use it. But check out the gorgeous strap that little miss had a lovely time constructing and machine embroidering!
Its a great pattern, very roomy and the elasticised drink bottle holders are great – a little big for her drink bottle but the thermos fits perfectly. It has two flaps which at first confused the heck out of me – I thought I had an extra piece of fabric cut out for no reason but one of them has a little pocket that holds the ice-pack. Ingenious!!
Materials
Patchwork fabric from the stash, wool quilt wadding, cotton, plastic coated rain coat fabric for the lining (in the stash from years ago when I made a lining for the basket in the bottom of the pram), cotton, velcro.
Glad to see you did make something from that book i gave you. How cool is the Lunch box !! Well done Miss Sophia and Eliza. looks awesome.
Enjoy your bag Soph 🙂
Thanks Mary – we might make a few more from this book, its got some good stuff in it.
I love my new lunchbox mum because it has a separate compartment just for the ice pack.😀🎒
Lucky Sophia!
